2025/11/23-25: I exhibited at the Komaba Festival (University of Tokyo) as part of our group's project "Thinking about people and science through making". I was mainly involved in an exhibit called "Word Dress-Up Play," an interactive installation designed to let visitors reflect on how the words we use in daily life, novels, and movies express aspects of ourselves.
2025/11/19: I participated in the online Biocontrol Workshop 2025 (Biocontrol Workshop 2025) across Asia, America, and Europe, and gave a poster presentation. Although attracting visitors to an online poster using Gather was challenging, I had discussions with four people and enjoyed an in-depth conversation with a master's student in bioengineering about future goals.
2025/11/6: I attended the "Starry Sky Class — Drawing, Playing, and Reading the Starry Sky" (2nd session "Starry Sky and Music") at Hibiya Library and Cultural Center. It was a great learning experience about the history of music themed on space and cosmology.
2025/10/24: My final project at the Deep Reinforcement Learning 2025 Summer School (organized by Matsuo/Iwasawa Lab, University of Tokyo) received an excellence award (2 winners out of 118). The presentation title was "Reinforcement Learning of a Virtual Cell Model Adapting to External Environments." Using a cell-agent model that extends prior work, I investigated how strategies that sense the external environment and regulate metabolism can be acquired.
2025/10/9: I attended the concurrent exhibitions BioJapan / Regenerative Medicine Japan / healthTECH JAPAN at Pacifico Yokohama. I spoke with representatives from Science Aid, NEDO, JAMSTEC, AIST, Mitsui Information, and Roche and gathered useful job-hunting information.
2025/10/1-: I started participating in "Foundations of Large Language Models 2025 Autumn" organized by Matsuo/Iwasawa Lab (course page).
2025/9/24-26: I attended and presented a poster at the 63rd Annual Meeting of the Biophysical Society of Japan at Nara Convention Center (BSJ2025). I was impressed by presenters with very polished explanations and aim to learn from their presentation style, including gaze guidance and smooth transitions between sentences.
2025/9/15-17: I participated in the "Creating Cells" workshop 18.0 and the junior researchers' meeting at Rikkyo University (symposium), and presented a poster. It was great to reunite with a friend who had been my roommate at another conference last year.
2025/8/3: I completed a self-study seminar on a well-known theoretical biology book by Andreas Wagner (book).
2025/7/29-: I began participating in the Deep Reinforcement Learning 2025 Summer School organized by Matsuo/Iwasawa Lab.
2025/7/14-15: I attended a joint seminar at RIKEN with my lab and Kyoto University / Higashigi Lab (event), where I presented research and enjoyed discussions on overlapping and differing scientific motivations among lab members.
2025/7/11: I attended the Generative AI Conference 2025 (conference) and learned about practical implementation of generative AI and interesting applications in the fashion industry.
2025/7/4: I participated in the 1st Mathematical Pharmacology Symposium at Kitasato University (post).
2025/6/24-27: I participated in the HELIOS 2025 workshop at Tohoku University (HELIOS 2025).
2025/5/24-25: I exhibited at the University of Tokyo's May Festival with our group's project (project note).
